About me

Umer Majeed is an experienced AI Engineer, Data Scientist, and Full-Stack Web3 Developer, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the InfiniteZero Foundation and Balkeum Labs. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering at Kyung Hee University (KHU), South Korea, in June 2025. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Pakistan.

Umer specializes in generative AI and LLM engineering — including transformer fine-tuning (PEFT, LoRA, RLHF, DPO), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic applications with LangChain and Hugging Face — backed by the IBM AI Engineering and IBM Generative AI Engineering Professional Certificates (2026). He is proficient in Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, and Solidity, with deep expertise in privacy-preserving computation, federated learning, and blockchain technologies. His work spans building predictive models and machine learning pipelines with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn; implementing smart contracts, DAOs, and ERC standards on EVM-compatible chains; and shipping full-stack products with React front-ends and FastAPI back-ends, supported by interactive dashboards in Plotly and Dash.

As a published researcher with 900+ citations, Umer leads the design and development of the Decentralized Intelligence Network (DIN), a blockchain-coordinated federated learning protocol, and has secured over $45,000 USD in grants through technical leadership and proposal development. He is committed to advancing the convergence of AI, data science, and Web3 — building intelligent systems that are private, decentralized, and trustworthy by design.
